“One person can make a difference and everyone should try.”

John F. Kennedy

At the Service Learning Project (SLP), we believe children and teens have powerful solutions to the complex problems facing our country.

Our mission is to help Brooklyn schools and community organizations create opportunities for youth to become active citizens in their schools and communities.  Through our school day and after-school programs, youth become agents of change, learning through the process that civic engagement is essential to an effective and equitable democracy.

Want to stay in touch? Sign up for our mailing list to receive monthly updates from SLP, stories from our students and schools, and interviews with young activists from around the world!

Through our non-profit fiscal sponsor, the Fund for the City of New York, we rely on generous contributions from foundations, corporations, and individuals. Find out how to donate here. Find out how you can support our work here.
