It takes a village to make the Service Learning Project’s (SLP) work with Brooklyn youth possible, and we were thrilled to celebrate with our incredible community of donors, friends, and school partners! This year’s event, held at the fabulous Invisible Dog gallery in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, and emcee’d by Brooklyn author Lucinda Rosenfeld, would not have been possible without the generosity of so many:
- Thank you and congratulations to our fearless and pioneering honorees, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Jebh Hamal, and NationSwell. Your work inspires us everyday!
- A huge thank you to our event sponsors: Two Trees, the Cheney Agency, the Camber Property Group, Keep Your Head Productions, Appraiser & Planners, Inc., and Bensinger Tech. A very special thank you to sponsor Daly Gonzalez, and especially Samara Daly & Nazli Parvizi who have become treasured advisors and most importantly friends to SLP.
- Many thanks to PS 307 teacher Servena Narine and her students for sharing their SLP experience. We were honored to have you at the event!
- For the raffle, dessert, and beverage donations: Wythe Hotel, Beautiful on Broadway, Judith Viorst, La Vara & Txikito, Blue Balloon School, Jessie Sheehan, Helene Rosenthal, Brooklyn Brewery, Hannah Levitz, New York Distilling Company and Vitacoco.
This year’s event was a tremendous success, raising more than $55,000- all of which will be used to bring SLP’s Residency Program to public schools located in historically under-served Brooklyn neighborhoods. Because of all of you, more than 300 Brooklyn children and teens will become leaders and agents of change in their schools and communities!
